A Christmas Poll
My deacon friend has to give sermons. As Advent approached, she thought she might give a sermon about the perfect Advent hymn. What would that hymn be? After much mulling, inspiration struck. "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town!" Of course! Hilarious but perfect. At least, that was my opinion, but I, too, am given to mulling. How would people who celebrate Advent react to that choice? How about the reaction of those who don't? To find an answer I developed a one question poll. "Do you think "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" would be a good Advent hymn? To a person, the celebrators guffawed and called the choice a stroke of genius. To a person, the non-celebrators grimaced and pronounced the choice a sacrilege.
