My poltergeist roommate has fiddled with my computer. For example, the Old Baguette has been able to write posts but hasn't been able to publish any. Whenever I open a file or an e-mail, the font is so tiny I can't read it. Instead of helping me fix these and other problems, Tech Support says, "Get a new tower." Sure. Right away.
My poltergeist roommate zapped my land phone's voice mail. For the past few weeks, messages have been garbled. Who called me? Why was I called? I don't know. A few days ago I bought a new phone with an answering machine to placate angry, worried, and disappointed friends. Angry friends have said they wouldn't respond to my messages since I didn't respond to theirs. Worried friends called my building's office. A search of my apartment revealed that I was not lying unconscious on the floor but was simply "out" in the usual sense.
Disappointed friends expected to hear from me and were disappointed in me when they didn't. How could I be so inconsiderate?
My poltergeist roommate did what rain and sleet could not do; he/she interfered with the delivery of my mail. Mail I've expected in return has never come.
Poltergeist roommate go away. Do not come back. To be on the safe side I shall publish without proofing what I've written. Will that make the roommate perish?
I wonder when the poltergeists shrink your screen if it is not some piece of software forcing your computer display into a higher pixel display. Next time you get the tiny screens try this:
ReplyDeleteClick Start.
Click Control Panel
Click Display
Click The Settings Tab
Look at the slider and see what it says.
If it is 1280 X 1024, try sliding the slider over to 1024 X 768. Then click OK. Your screen will go dark for a moment but should come back normal size.
I doubt that is the problem but it is worth a try. If it is the problem, that won't prevent it from happening again, but at least you will know how to correct it.
that may have been me a couple of times- usually on sunday! bad poltergeists! Out you go!
